My Matariki art

Today we painted The Southern Lights for Matariki. We are celebrating Matariki on 24 of June in New Zealand.Matariki is a Maori New Year celebration. This year for the first time it is a public holiday.

I personally like painting the 7 stars because it’s quick

The easiest part of it was colouring the southern lights and the hardest part of the painting is ripping the paper because it could easily rip in half

I look forward to doing artwork about halloween in the future.

  1. Kia ora Sean , I really like you art it looks fantastic, I really think your colours really stands out. I enjoy using the ear buds to make the seven sisters It also really easy. The hardest one, was ripping the brown paper to make the mountains. This year Matariki is now a public hoilday for the first time!!! What do your family do at matariki? 😀
