The life of Sean | |
Life has been a mix of ups and downs and I’ve learned a lot along the way. I’ve had my challenges, but each one taught me something new. This is my story, from when I was born in the Philippines to the person I am today.
I was born on October 7th, 2012, at a hospital in Manila at 11:12 PM. I was taken care of by nurses for the first couple of weeks and got to spend time with my family. Early Childhood: I grew up in Magliman, a province in the Philippines. I lived a lower-upper-class life. I remember I used to love toy robots back then, and would get upset when one would break or if I couldn’t put it back together. I also had lots of fun playing with them.

My family is important to me, even if they can be a little crazy sometimes. My dad is really chill and says random things. One time when he was cooking steak, he looked me straight in the eye and just said “Gatorade.” My mom works as a baker for my families business and is always taking care of me and my brother. She tends to give him more attention though, but he’s okay with it, and he’s independent. I remember one time when he had an accident in the toilet, and he yelled for mom to clean it up. As for me, I enjoy playing soccer and staying fit for it. I can be a bit immature sometimes, especially if I don’t know someone well.
Soccer has always been my thing. I wasn’t good at it when I started, but I learned by watching others and practicing. Now I’m better, but it took a lot of work. I also used to be really weak when I was about 11, and it bothered me a lot. I decided to get stronger, so I started working hard to make it happen. It wasn’t easy, but I was determined and eventually felt much better about myself.
Some of the best moments in my life have been when I pushed myself to do things I was scared of. Like when I went cliff diving for the first time, or when I rode the Fearfall at Rainbows End. Both were really scary but fun. Being a senior at Glen Innes School was also exciting. It felt like a big step and I started to feel more grown-up and responsible.
Looking back, I can see how much I’ve grown. From a kid who used to get upset over broken toys, to someone who worked hard to get stronger and better at soccer. I still have a lot of dreams, and I want to go back to the Philippines one day. Right now, I’m focused on making the future better and doing the best I can. |
How to shoot on grass
Shooting a soccer ball on grass might seem tricky at first, but with the right techniques, you’ll soon be scoring goals like a pro. Start by positioning your body correctly: plant your non-kicking foot beside the ball and focus on keeping your eyes on the ball as you kick. For a powerful shot, strike the center of the ball with the inside or top of your foot. If you want more control, try using the inside of your foot for a precision pass or shot. Remember to follow through with your kick and practice regularly for consistent results. With patience and persistence, you’ll improve your accuracy and power!
Our Athletics Day
Athletics Day Recount:
Athletics Day was so much fun and full of excitement. Our team, the Pink Team, was up against the Orange and Purple Teams. Even though the competition was tough, we had a great time and did really well.
The first of the races was the 400-metre race. It was challenging, but I kept going and ended up coming 3rd. I felt proud of myself for pushing through. Then came the 200-metre race, and I did even better, coming 2nd. It felt great to see my hard work paying off.
Then after that, started with the 100-metre race. I ran as fast as I could, but I came 4th. I was a little disappointed, but I stayed positive.
The best part of the day was the team events. In the tug-of-war, we were strong and worked together really well. We won most of our matches, even though they were close. The biggest win was during the class vs. class tug-of-war, where we gave it our all and won 1st place! It felt amazing to win that match, and everyone was super happy.
We also had a lot of help from the juniors. They were really strong and helped us a lot in the tug-of-war. Their energy gave us the extra push we needed to win. Without them, we might not have won 1st place.
Overall, Athletics Day was a fantastic day. Our Pink Team did really well, and with the help of the juniors in the races. without them we couldn’t have the honour of being the best team on Athletics Day. Then we came out on top. It was a day full of fun, teamwork, and great memories!

⚽️ What a match today! We came away with the win, but let’s be honest—things got a bit chaotic out there with no ref to keep things in check.
There were moments where fairness was definitely in question, but our team showed incredible resilience. We kept our cool, supported one another, and focused on playing our game despite the challenges.
In the end, it’s all about the heart and teamwork we bring to the field. So proud of how we came together to clinch that victory! Here’s to more games and more memories! 🙌🏆
